A Message From Your Conference Chair

Welcome to Philadelphia and an exciting TRI-Ada '96 Conference!

TRI-Ada provides a forum to discuss among members of the academic, government and industry communities software development for complex systems using Ada and other commercially available technologies.

TRI-Ada is sponsored by ACM SIGAda. This year we are fortunate to also have the cooperation of both the Defense Information Systems Agency and The Software Engineering Institute, a federally-funded research and development organization operated by Carnegie Mellon University and sponsored by the Department of Defense.

This year's TRI-Ada conference focuses on disciplined software development, presents progress to date and outlines continuous improvement through keynote and invited technical presentations, papers, panels, tutorials, and vendor presentations. Areas covered include software engineering process and technology, safety-critical systems, multi-source product line development, the software engineering professional's educational requirements and world-wide web software development.

Ada's greatest contribution has been, and continues to be, that its use focuses programming towards using proven software engineering techniques and development disciplines.

The success of this conference is the result of the hard work and sizable time investments of many of your peers. I am indebted to the Conference Committee, the Program Committee, past conference organizers and SIGAda leaders. They all contributed significantly.

Make the most of your time here. Visit the outstanding presenters and exhibitors. Enjoy!
